Note for: Osborne Stacy, 17 MAY 1818 - 10 MAY 1899
Osborne Stacy joined the Rutherford County, NC, Senior Reserves, CSA assigned to Co. G, 50th Regiment, NC Troops in March, 1864. At the request of his company commander and the men of his unit, Osborne was released from duty in 1864 due to his advanced age and the fact that he was responsible for the welfare of a large Western North Carolina family. He was later a member of the Davis - Dickerson Camp of Confederate Veterans in Rutherfordton, NC. Osborne married the pretty Mary Ann Stewart and lived, farmed and raised his family in Rutherford County, NC . He is buried with his wife at the Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rutherford County, NC. Osborne is my Second Great Grandfather Osborne was one of the original founders of Pisgah United Methodist Church and a beautiful stained glass window was installed in the Sanctuary there to honor his service in the Church.
