Oliver Hicks Stacey, b. 1907 and wife, Maude Elizabeth Webster Stacey. Hicks
Stacey is known to this Stacy family branch as the primary driving factor in
preserving our family's history. Hicks Stacey is 95 years old this year in
2002, but was still able to attend the family's Stacy/Norville Reunion at Pisgah
United Methodist Church, Rutherford County, N. C. this year. The following
photograph was made of him at that reunion and is shown in the next photograph.

in the front is Sarah Margaret Jones Loftin, the daughter of Johnnie Mae
Norville Jones, and Oliver Hicks Stacey, b. 1907, the son of William Osborn
Stacy, b. 1872. Standing left to right is Reverend Charles Norville, Ruth
Jones Brockman, another daughter of Johnnie Mae Norville Jones, Velma Louise
Stacey McGrath, Edna Mae Stacey Pryor and Lillian Cochran Hedin, the daughter of
Edith Loretta Stacy Cochran. As a young man attending The University of North
Carolina, Oliver Hicks Stacey served as a baby sitter for his Uncle Charles
Spurgeon Norville. One of the children for whom he baby sat was Charles
Norville, who is pictured in this picture with Oliver Hicks Stacey. It is told
that Reverend Charles Spurgeon Norville pressed Oliver Hicks Stacey to become a
minister, however, Hicks had other plans for himself. This story is preserved by
those who are the closest to Oliver Hicks Stacey.

Benjamine F. is the cousin of another Benjmin shown above who was the son of
Aaron Stacy. Benjamin F. Stacy is the son of Elisha Stacey who is the brother of
Aaron Stacy.
The old and the new gravestone of Osborn Stacy, b. 1818. The old stone broke
into two pieces
and
was replaced
by
the Confederate Veterans Association since Osborne served in the C. S. A.
Lillian Cochran Hedin, a direct ancestor, is responsible for having the stone
replaced. The old, broken stone is being preserved by Mrs. Hedin's family.
