A trip in time to visit the ancestors.

With Gilboa Methodist Church, ca. 1830 as a backdrop, we see our family genealogist, Oliver Hicks Stacey in the foreground. To the right is his wife of many years, Elizabeth Stacey. The photograph from our family collection was taken by another family member in 1985 during a visit to the grave of Aaron Stacy, b. 1760, Saint Marys, Maryland.  Aaron Stacy and his wife Nancy lived and died in North Carolina and are buried here. Aaron Stacy served and survived through 4 enlistments in the Revolutionary War in America. Aaron Stacy's headstone is seen at the lower center of this photograph and is leaning slightly to the right.  Nancy Bullock Stacy, Aaron's wife's headstone, is directly to the left of Aaron's and has small green vegetation growing up and beside it. At the lower bottom right is the headstone of Benjamin Stacy, the son of Aaron and Nancy.
