David Finley Davis

   

   

According to his brother, Grover, David Finley Davis served as a combat officer in Africa and in Europe during WWII. He was wounded  at least 4 times in combat situations, and won the silver star shown above in 1945. He was a beloved Uncle Finley to his nephews and nieces and after the war he was the commander of the local Army National Guard Organization in Burlington, NC. He died in 1952. -  By D. D.
