1.             Elisha Stacy b. 1772, Prob Brunswick County, VA,[1] (son of Benedict Stacy/Stacey and Sarah Haskins/Hoskins) m. 26-May-1797, in Lincoln County, NC,1  Mary Polly Williams, b. ca 1775, d. Prob Franklin County, AL.  Elisha died Prob Franklin County, AL.  

Benedict (father) was in Brunswick County, VA 1771-1776 and Elisha was probably born in Brunswick County, VA.  An Elisha Stacy on USGenWeb Archives Muster Rolls by Wm. R. Navey, Soldiers of War of 1812, Detached from Militia of North Carolina 1812-1814, 2nd RGT from Rutherford County, NC with Captain Abraham Irvine, Lieutenant John Foneten, and Ensign Joseph Willis.

         From Betty McCollum: "Elisha Statia witnessed the will of Charles Williams 25-Mar-1802 in Lincoln County, NC Will Abstracts 1779-1910 #1268."

         From C. Ray Stacy: "Elisha evidently removed from Lincoln County, NC 1796-1802. In 1803, he is in Lauderdale County, AL.  Elisha is on 1805 Tax List in Lincoln County, NC for 200 acres.  1805/10 Lincoln County, NC Tax List, he owned 100 acres of land in Harwell's County, as did Aaron Stacy.  1830, Elisha was in Morgan County, AL and 1840, in Franklin County, AL P/269, age 60/70 (b. 1770/80), spouse age 50/60."

         Elisha Stacy was HoH on the 1830 Morgan County, AL Census with 2 males 10/15, 1 male 20/30, and 1 male 50/60; 1 female 20/30 and 1 female 40/60.  Mary: One researcher has her b. 26-May-1797, which was her DoM.

1840 Franklin County, AL Census shows David Stacy P/269.  1850 Itawamba County, MS Census: David Stacy 58, Alpha 45, Elisha 20, Marion 17, Mary 16, John W. 14, Thomas F. 12, Harriet 10, Aminda 8, George W. 3, Matilda 5, and a child not named, age 6/12.  1860 Itawamba County, MS Census: David 63, Alpha Omega 53, John W. 22, Thomas 20, Amanda 17, Matilda C. 15, George W. 13, and Malia, 11.  Alpha Omega (Beasley) Stacy is listed on the 1870 Prentiss County, MS Census, age 64 SC, living with Malinie/Malissie Stacy, age 18 MS.  Marriage certificates are in Morgan County, AL.  (Dee Dee Anglin Shackelford of Ardmore, OK, and whose husband is descended from Elisha Stacy, provided info on David and his descendants to C. Ray Stacy).

            65.      iv    Alma Stacy b. ca 1871.3   Alma was not listed on the 1870/1880 Prentiss County, MS Census as child.  If child, she would have to be an infant death b. ca 1871, or one of the two other girls listed as Mavis/Marurdo and Marcifus?  Sharia Henley has listed Alma as child?

She died so unnecessarily. After having a baby - a boy, she remained ill and couldn't get better. Her husband John took a urine sample to the doctor. In those days, the doctor went around the county treating people. I doubt he had an office, just used his home if needed. When John arrived at the doctors, there was no one there. He left the urine sample and returned home. The doctor never came and Aunt Lois died. What the Doctor did do, was culture the urine and discover that whoever it belonged to was indeed seriously ill. But John Stacy had not left any note to tell the Doctor who it belonged to, and the Doctor was unable to find it's source to treat the patient. I'm truly not understanding why John Stacy did not return to the Doctor. This story was related to me by my Sparks cousin, Gayle Hall.  I need to get this info replaced, it dropped off when my computer crashed. I know Enoch Stacy was 2 years old when his mother died."
