Interior of Saint Mary's Church in Handsworth. Construction began on the church

after the Norman Invasion in the 11th century.  Very little of the original building is left standing.

The Stacye family Crest is shown on the left hand and right hand

side of the ornate window.  A close up of the oldest is shown in this

movie clip. If you look quickly, you will see that the crest on the

left side is the same as the crest on this web site.

Mahlon Stacye was christened in the Baptismal in the center

of this film clip. Mahlon, of course, is known for his migration

to the American Colonies with George Fox and other Quakers in

1678 to escape the persecution of King Charles II.

The Stacye grave plot is located behind the Saint Mary's Church,  protected

by a heavy wrought iron fence and high weeds.
